Our concert series in 2023 featured some of South Africa’s finest musicians in unforgettable performances, and 2024 promises to be no different.
We start our 2024 concerts in collaboration with the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival with two piano recitals at the immaculate Villa Arcadia in Parktown. Gustavo Romero, the celebrated American pianist, will perform works by Mozart, Schumann, Sibelius, and Rachmaninov on Sunday, January 21st, at 3 PM. On Tuesday, January 23rd at 7 PM, Albert Mamriev, juror for the UNISA International Piano Competition in Pretoria, will perform works by Mozart, Schumann, and Brahms.
Professor Gustavo Romero is internationally renowned for his exceptional technical brilliance, interpretive depth, and commitment to in-depth exploration of a wide array of composers. A winner of the prestigious Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in Switzerland, Professor Romero has performed with some of the world’s leading orchestras, including The New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Atlanta Symphony, Houston Symphony, The Boston Pops Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, and Radio France Orchestra, amongst many others. Professor Romero is a Professor of Piano at the University of North Texas.
Pianist, conductor, and music producer Albert Mamriev was born in Dagestan and studied with distinguished professors at the leading Conservatories in Moscow, Tel-Aviv, and Hanover.
